Aqua blasting is a process of cleaning parts back to their original 'as new' finish. Also known as Vapour blasting or Wet blasting. Various media is used to achieve the correct finish to the metal. The media is forced under pressure with water to give a silky satin finish which can then be painted, lacquered or left bare. An anti-corrosion additive is also included to help prevent studs, etc. from rusting after cleaning. This process is not as harsh as dry blasting so can be used on delicate items such as carburetors. Aqua blasting is suitable for all nonferrous metals including Aluminium, Magnesium, Titanium, Brass, copper and Stainless Steel. Here at Aqua Force we offer a multistage process. Parts are firstly placed in the hot wash cleaning machine to thoroughly clean and de-grease before secondly chemically removing any paint or lacquer. The parts are then vapor blasted before having a final rinse clean and dry.

Vapour blasting is a finishing process used to clean and restore non ferrous metals. The process is somewhat similar to conventional dry blasting in which an abrasive media is projected at high pressure towards the component. This often damages the surface and can change vital tolerances on engine components. Vapour blasting however introduces water into the process which cushions and lubricates the media on impact, causing no damage and leaving a far superior satin finish.
Vapour blasting alone is often far to passive to remove all types of paint and corrosion and therefore either chemical or mechanical means must first be employed to better prepare the surface prior to vapour blasting.
Here at Aqua Force Vapour Blasting we are now offering Ultra Sonic Cleaning service so we can provide an even better vapour blasting service.
Ultrasonic cleaners have a component called a transducer. This is the part that generates ultrasonic sound waves. The sound waves produce microscopic bubbles that very effectively dislodge dirt, grime and petrol residue from the intricate parts of a carburettor that would otherwise be difficult to get to.
